Rootstock estate in the Anoia region

Today’s post is to show a photo of the evolution of the American rootstock fields at our estate in Anoia.

The winter rains, combined with the availability of irrigation on the estate and the application of appropriate treatments, will allow us to produce high-quality plant material.

At the beginning of August, it is already possible to observe how some parts of the plant are beginning to lignify, transforming into wood.

Towards the end of August and the beginning of September, the plant’s growth will have stopped, and we will have to wait until December to harvest the cuttings.

The water and nutrients the plant has received will allow us to produce rootstocks with high reserves, thus ensuring greater success in both grafting and when planting the vines in the nursery.

We have 50 hectares of rootstocks distributed across various estates. The rootstocks we primarily work with are SO4, 110 Richter (110R), 140 Ruggeri (140RU), 1103 Paulsen (1103P), 41 B Millardet Grasset (41-B), among others.

In another post, we will explain the particularities of each one.
