European viticulture faces a transformation process marked by adaptation to climate change, the need to reduce inputs, and more efficient resource use. At the same time, the incorporation of new technologies opens the door to new ways of managing vineyards and winemaking processes.
This context frames LIGAWINE (Low Input Grapegrowing and Winemaking), a European project connecting companies, research centers, universities, clusters, and professionals from the vitivinicultural sector with the aim of developing, testing, and transferring new solutions applied to vineyards and wineries.
A Project Focused on Real-World Application
LIGAWINE works in different areas related to sector efficiency and adaptation: input reduction, resource management, digitalization, precision technologies, and the validation of new solutions.
One of the project’s central tenets is that these innovations should not remain solely within the realm of research, but should be tested under real production conditions.
This allows for analyzing their performance in the vineyard, nursery, or winery, assessing their viability, and better understanding the contexts in which they can add value to the sector.
This combination of scientific knowledge, technological development, and practical experience is one of LIGAWINE’s foundations.
The project is funded within the framework of the European call I3-2024-INV1 – Interregional Innovation Investments Instrument (strand 1).
20 Partners from Five European Countries
LIGAWINE is composed of 20 organizations from five European countries, with complementary profiles that allow the project to be approached from different areas of knowledge and experience.

Sharing Knowledge Across Diverse Vitivinicultural Realities
The diversity of the consortium allows for contrasting solutions in territories with different climatic, productive, and business conditions.
This interregional perspective is especially relevant because it facilitates comparing results, identifying under which conditions each proposal works best, and fostering knowledge transfer among different European vitivinicultural zones.
At ENRIC REGULL, being part of LIGAWINE allows us to contribute our expertise in grapevine plant material, nursery, and field work, while collaborating with other European companies, researchers, and professionals.
An opportunity to continue sharing knowledge, participate in new validation processes, and contribute, from our specialty, to the current and future challenges of viticulture.
